Hello Jackson,
New 7 wonders is no non profit foundation, it's just a profitable construction for 2 persons - a president and a director - forget the subordinate spokesman Fitzgerald. He is only reworking all the pressreleases from the last years in order to camouflage the origins of the wishful figures which the n7w business director and the president are using as bait for ambitious (and sometimes corrupted) tourism departments. But they are savvy enough to try to sell their worthless license model only to countries far away from European jurisdiction.
The rumor of $ 5 billions economic value generated by the first campaign was spread out by a press release of New 7 Wonders, dated Nov. 8, 2008: no study, no research, no proof, only wishful thinking and half a page of amateurish unproven calculations in order to sell the second campaign. Then this unproven information got quoted and quoted again and became sprawled in reports about tourism by tax consultant companies and goverment agencies who had to justify that they wanted to spend money for supporting their tourism industry. Apparenty allmost nobody tried to get to the bottom of these figures – exept finally the people who created this no7wonders blog.
New 7 Wonders press releases show a trace of the false calculations from South Africa to Indonesia to the Maledives to Korea's Jeju Island. But only the unsucessfull attempts in Indonesia or the Maledives and now apparently in Korea became public and scandalized: A swiss guy tries to export his personal interpretation of democracy by selling telephone- and SMS-votes to the poorest countries of the world. He tries get money for worthless licences with dubious namedropping (UNESCO, UN and names of celebrities ). NO7WONDERS – is a very good slogan and it should be the slogan for all other candidates who did not yet buy themselves into this pseudo-vote. You can be sure that the candidates who filled up already the pockets of Mr. Weber the most, will be on a winning rank. If you do not believe this, ask Mr. Weber for clear proof and doubtless testimony of the votes of the first campaign, for the studies about the economic value of 5 billions $ and for the reason why this laming second campaign should create 10 times more votes than the first one. Because these are the promising figures he uses to sell his ideas. This is not a global vote – this is a global scam – like some comments in the Minivan News allready stated.

Dear Valeria,
Thanks a lot for your response. Yes, you are absolutely right. We have recently found out that the president of NOWC, the sibling company of the New7Wonders Foundation that takes care of all the profit-making activities, is Bernard Weber, the director of the Foundation. I don't know yet if it is truly legal. What is clear, though, is that he is using the loophole of the law to delude people into believing that the Foundation is a not-for-profit organization, while making lots of money through the campaign.
I couldn't find any research, either, that proves N7W's "amateurish unproven calculations" in a truly scientific manner. As you pointed out, it seems to me too that nobody tried to examine the truthfulness of those figures, which is why I and my friends decided to stop this nonsense.
The process of voting is also lacking in transparency. According to what we have found in the cases of the Maldives and Indonesia, they posed a threat to them when they refused to accept NOWC's financial demand: a disqualification in the voting campaign. This means that unless you give Bernard Weber the money he asks for, all the votes you have earned so far means nothing. Can you believe that this stupid game is happening now around the world?
N7W says that their campaign aims to promote democracy around the world. But I and my friends believe that keeping them from playing a scam like this is a step forward in democracy in our world. And we think that the first step to do so is to provide true pictures of the foundation and their campaigns to people around the world who are deceived not only by N7W guys but also their own officials and businessmen who are already baited to the scam and now try to fool their own peoples.
We (I and my friends) are updating our blog continuously and whenever we receive or come across important pieces of information. I hope you can continue to pay attention to our blog and help people get informed of it.
Again, I greatly appreciate your perspectives.

Dear Joe,
if you give me an e-mail I provide you with the the original press release, the missing link of the "Kotler"Article. You cannot find this anymore on the n7w website as they just made the 5th relaunch and no old links are working anymore ( which may be intended).
The relation between the (frontstore) New7Wonders foundation and the NewOpenWorldCorporation (NOWC) in Panama, from where N7W gets the money may be legal, but both institutions are controlled completely by Weber. All license or telco contracts are with the Panama Company and it is the highly personnel decision of Weber what he does with this money. He knows why he choose this oasis for tax exiles. Nobody can control the balances of the Panama Company and the accounts of the Swiss foundation are cooked so there is nothing left over for sharing with poor candidates, as they say in their terms and conditions.
Weber is a real crook ( pls. do NOT publish this), but he has the most convincing and charming way of winding somebody around one's finger, selling his idea of "creating global memory" , which gives him the right - he thinks - to ask for money all over the world. It's amazing how this Pied Piper of Switzerland - together with his so called business director and gopher - misleads grown up politicians and experienced people from the administration and pulls the money out of their pockets. You should share your information with your critical media - if you have some - because they should know. And all the other 28 candidates should know. If you have specific questions. pls. mail. Valeria
